Summary

The study aims to explore the experiences of spouses caring for partners with dementia in the community and how these experiences impact their quality of life. Using qualitative methods and in-depth interviews, the research identifies four key themes: initial emotions, the impact of carers, uncertainty in the relationship, and effects on quality of life. The findings reveal that these caregivers face significant challenges, including emotional, physical, and psychosocial strain, which negatively affect their overall health.
