Summary

This research explores how the application of the biopsychosocial model by social workers with carers of young people with early psychosis can improve carer outcomes. The findings concluded that social connectedness, quality of life and physical health were lower for carers than the general population, and that providing holistic support for carers in mental health services will improve outcomes for mental health clients and their carers.
