This article outlines the findings of a literature review and environmental scan of the extent of the issue of carer identification for cancer inpatients. Conducted by Carer Support Unit of the Central Coast Local Health District (New South Wales, Australia), the review was the first stage of a project aimed at improving carer identification. The review also includes quotes from carers and health professionals.
