This editorial contributes towards a greater discussion of the impact of COVID-19 on all aspects of caregiving. The paper discusses a range of issues that carers faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, while recognising that this is an uncharted area and much work still remains to be completed on this topic. Discussion includes the changing nature of care due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including an increase in innovative and positive new approaches to care.
