Long Summary

This review explores unrecognised Young Adults Carers (YAC) providing informal care, with diverse experiences and limited dedicated support. This review of 23 studies found that while YACs face significant emotional, social, and practical challenges, there are few support services specifically designed for them.

    Key Messages for Carers

  • Recognising Young Adult Carer, their unique challenges, and providing targeted support is essential to ensure they are not left behind.

  • Key Messages for Policy Makers

  • Despite expressing significant needs, YACs remain underserved, underscoring the need for increased research and policy attention.
