Summary

This report identifies qualities of carers such as resilience and selflessness as being highly sought after by universities. However, the report uncovers the important finding that many student carers are hesitant to identify themselves as carers to their peers at university. The report suggests that reform of university policies is required to accommodate and attract carers to higher education institutions, especially following the impact of COVID-19 on the existing challenges carers face.
