This article explores the valuable insights gained from an international symposium for practitioners and policy specialists on addressing the
needs of young carers in refugee and asylum-seeking families. Young carers from the UK and Africa shared their experiences of being a young carer in these situations. A range of messages for government and policy makers were presented and the symposium recognised that young carers from refugee and asylum-seeking families are particularly vulnerable, emphasising the importance of addressing the individual needs of young carers who are refugees.
