What Women Want

The What Women Want 2024/25 Survey by the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) aims to understand women's experiences, needs, and challenges in the workforce. Caring responsibilities were a significant factor in these challenges. Approximately 1 in 3 (32.1%) reported regular caring responsibilities, commonly for parents (58.3%), children under 18 (26.9%), adult children (23.9%), or others, including partners, relatives, friends, or neighbours. Over a third (36.2%) had dual caring roles, supporting both dependent children and others, and 70% of these women worked full-time.
