Summary

This article gathers new data to investigate the physical and psychological effects of caring for a young person with first episode psychosis (FEP). Findings indicate that caring for a young person with FEP is associated with poor physical and psychological health for carers, resulting in a need for greater carer support earlier in the treatment process for the person they care for.
