Long Summary

This article examines patterns of social isolation and loneliness among carers using carers of people with a glioma as the basis of the research. Using qualitative methods, the paper outlines some of the unique difficulties faced by the families of people with incurable cancer. The results indicated a number of themes including the need to be present with the care recipient, the sense of responsibility the carers has for the care recipient, and experiences of loneliness carers may face.
