Long Summary

This study investigated young carers experiences and perspectives, outlined the service needs of these carers, and investigated the impacts of their caring role on their education, employment, health, and social life. The study found that young carers often felt that their caring role shaped their decisions and aspirations. Though this research is from 2012, many themes are still relevant to young carers today and this reinforces the need for increased support for this carer cohort.
