Long Summary

This article explores the relationship between migration, social policy, and providing and receiving care in family contexts, with a particular focus on transnational grandparenting. The authors found that migration and work and care regimes are currently poorly aligned and as a result this negatively impacts migrant families’ wellbeing and economic security. This work discusses the concept of moral geographies of care and interrogates idealised norms in care and how this impacts migrant families in Australia.
