Long Summary

This report consists of a summary of an international discussion panel hosted by the Carer Knowledge Exchange as part of the 2025 Research Incubator. The report provides an overview on each international panellist, Joseph E. Gaugler, PhD (USA), Kim Whitmore, PhD, RN, CPN (USA), Susan Janko Summers, PhD (USA) and Kate Hogarth (UK), detailing their academic and work backgrounds, and their concerns on the subject at hand. Summarising from the panel, the report identifies the key themes which emerged, including: common sector challenges (detailing the differences and similarities between carer services and support policies in Australia, the UK and the USA), program evaluation as a driver of innovation and evidence, a standardised approach to evaluation, and sector development opportunities. In addition, the report provides an extensive list of links to further practical resources aimed at service providers.
